Chimney Rock Park is a 1,000 acre, family-owned, outdoor, scenic attraction located 25 miles southeast of Asheville, North Carolina. The Park offers spectacular 75-mile views, hiking trails for all ages, a 404-foot waterfall, Nature Center, Native Plant Nursery, a variety of special events and much more.
The Smith-McDowell House Museum is celebrating 25 years open to the public.  Discover Asheville's first mansion and oldest surviving structure, now restored as a history museum.  Built by one of antebellum North Carolina's most influential citizens, this National Register property was once the home of mayors, a Confederate Major, and friends of the Vanderbilt's at nearby Biltmore Estate.

Pack Place is a great starting point for guided tours.  Every Saturday from April through October, the Asheville Urban Trail offers professionally guided tours at 10:30am & 3pm for only $5 for adults and $2 for children.  Self-guided tours are available anytime - just pick up a colorful map and start your walk through "a history and art museum without walls".
