BACKGROUND:  You may have already experienced Pack Place - home of the Asheville Art Museum, Colburn Earth Science Museum, Diana Wortham Theatre, The Health Adventure and YMI Cultural Center.  Over the past ten years, you and your family have visited the museums, experienced great performances, participated in cultural activities and attended community events like the Asheville Film Festival.  You know that Pack Place is the centerpiece of the rebirth of Downtown Asheville.  What you may not know is that each year, Pack Place must raise a substantial portion of its operating expenses from grants and gifts. You can help by becoming a Pack Place Day Patron.  Please help us support our community, our Partners and each visitor who experiences Pack Place.   

The basic utility bills at Pack Place average $145,000 per year.  That’s over $400 per day.  The electric bills alone make up over $200 of that daily cost.  The electricity Pack Place provides its Partners also helps to “power” our mission to “provide opportunities where the arts, education and entertainment meet and thrive, to enrich the life of our community.”  The $200 per day is a small but vital part of what it takes to cast light on artistic masterpieces, illuminate the Earth’s natural wonders, raise the velvet curtains of the Theatre, spark the imagination of children of all ages and help to light the paths to cultural experiences.  We are reaching out to you and asking that you help us keep the lights on at Pack Place and help power the experiences found here.  Please become a Pack Place Day Patron and “See Your Name In Lights” with a $200 tax-deductible contribution.  We will use a portion of the electricity you help provide to recognize your contribution on the Marquee on Pack Square.  Imagine your name flashing in Pack Square every few minutes during the day, or days, that you sponsor.  A $200 tax-deductible contribution, the less than the cost of one day of electricity at Pack Place, is all it takes.
